OMG YES THANK YOU. I feel crazy when I explain this to people. Fan service taints a lot of good anime and media in general because it's like when they show the marvel character from comic to me. They want all the hype of having this character from the comic but no character development. I feel similarly with, I call them, "Gooner Characters". I feel it with nsfw art too. No genuine connection to the character or design, just eye candy. Feels almost similar to why iPad babies like cocomelon, probably some similarities due to dopamine ruining the brain but idk. I think you did an awesome job explaining it a bit.
